The modern Service Boot is a culmination of 90 years of experience for . Since founding in 1931, the company has refined and produced the Service Boot for discerning adventurers, workers and sartorialists alike. The classic lines are rivalled only by the durability and hard-working roots from which this boot has been forged. The uppers are constructed from a single piece of Waxy Commander suede produced by British tannery Charles F. Stead & Co. – a name synonymous with the finest leathers since 1900. Using bovine hide, the suede shrinks up to 25% during the unique CFS technique. The hide is tanned without any pigment – the same way all C.F. Stead leathers are tanned – with natural waxes applied to give the suede a waterproof finish.

The 310 Last was originally crafted in 2007, unifying a classic British climbing boot with a mid-century workboot. Its "sprung toe," which lends the 310 its distinctive shape, had its genesis in the early 1900s to provide a rocking motion for enhanced comfort when traversing in rigid-soled industrial boots.

Viberg boots are made for a lifetime of wear, so a sole which can be repaired, removed and replaced is paramount to ensure that daily wear doesn't cut that experience short. A leather Viberg "Chassis" is secured to the uppers with stitchdown construction and wears a sturdy Ridgeway outsole – which of course can be replaced with wear.
